Creating your own cascading bridal bouquet can be fun and satisfying. This stylish bouquet can be made up to 48 hours before the event.
Materials
Bouquet holder with floral foam
Bucket filled with cool water
Sharp floral shears
Flower food
Floral wire
Floral tape
Ribbon
Spray bottle
Greenery and flowers
Method
Start by trimming one half and inch off the ends of all the flowers and greenery. Put flowers, greenery, and bouquet holder in the bucket of water treated with commercial floral food. Allow a minimum of 20-30 minutes to absorb the food and moisture. Start with the longest stems first, inserting them approximately one third of the way up from the bottom of the foam basket. Using shorter stems create the shape of the top of the bouquet. Use floral tape and wire to stabilize where needed.
Shorter stems of flowers and greenery fill in and balance the head of the bouquet. Using greenery at the bottom, create a backdrop for the cascading flowers. Fill in the area with greenery below the long cascading stems; smaller blossoms can create depth. Add ribbon to cascade six inches below the flowers.
Spray and keep chilled until several hours before the event.
